In the 1900 federal census, George worked in the sawmill.

George went out west after his brother Robert's death. Later he married Robert's widow, Alafar, and lived in Seattle, Washington, until her death. He then sold their several apartment buildings there and came back to the old Dunlap farm to live in Putnam County, Ohio. He died at the Nickles Clinic in Bluffton, Indiana.
