    * Note: 'No. 3 Hans Crescent, Sloane Square S.W.' was the then and longtime address of Geoffrey Askew's uncle Hugh Askew - since at least 1905, as so given in that and all subsequent editions of the London Post Office Directories, through to the year 1941.
    ** Note: "15 Grosvenor St. W.1." is given by the Post Office London Directory for 1930, as the home address of the Rev. Prebendary Francis Norman Thicknesse, who was almost certainly still living there in 1932 – on the day he was conducting the marriage of Lt-Cdr. Geoffrey Askew R.N. to Miss Joyce Moore.     « The marriage took place at St. George's, Hanover Square, on October 20, of Lieutenant-Commander G.H.C. Askew, R.N., only son of the late Claude and Alice Askew and Miss Joyce Moore, only daughter of Richmond and the late Elizabeth Moore.
    The bride was given away by her father. Mrs. E. J. King-Bull was Dame of Honour ; the bridesmaids were Miss Jill Askew, sister of the bridegroom, and Miss Susan Wilson.
    Flight Lieutenant Mellor, in naval uniform, as was the bridegroom, was best man. Lady Carter,* cousin of the bride, held a reception afterwards at 20, Embankment Gardens. »
