    Evelyn Louise McElhaney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. McElhaney of Helena, became the bride of Fred A. Johnson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred O. Johnson of Canby, Ore., In a double ring ceremony performed May 5 In the Canby Christian church. Preceding the ceremony, which was read by the Rev. D. Priest, Miss Phyllis Battleson sang several selections, accompanied by Mrs. Earl Oathes, pianist. Th bride, given in marriage by J. C. Cull of Portland, Ore., wore a white satin gown with a court train. Her finger-tip veil of French tulle was held In place by a coronet of orange blossoms. She carried a white Bible surmounted with a spray or orchids. Miss Rosie Messer of Olympia, Wash., maid of honor, wore a pink brocaded taffeta gown and carried a nosegay of roses and sweet peas. Edward Lemons of Canby was best man. Ushers were Dale Johnson and Sheldon Johnson of Woodburn, Ore. A wedding reception was held In the church parlors following the ceremony. Assisting at the reception table were Jean Smith, Dolores Rondeau and Ginger Dangerfield of Portland and Joyce Johnson and Jo Anne Johnson of Woodburn. Following a visit in Helena, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson will make their home in Portland. The bride is a graduate of Helena high school and has been employed with the Western Union in Portland. Mr. Johnson was recently discharged from the Army following four years service in the South Pacific.
