I question this source. The Poats family had been living in Algansee, Michigan for a while. They appear in the 1870 and 1880 census. Jacob, Melissa and their family had been living in Algansee since 1868. It is unlikely to me that this couple would travel back to Lorain County Ohio to be married -- 168 miles by modern roads -- when their family is all in Algansee...
