"MORRIS - Bertha Mabel (Starr) Churchill passed away at Fox Memorial Hospital, Oneonta, Sunday afternoon of last week, following several weeks' illness with heart trouble and other complications. Bertha Mabel Starr was born in the town of Morris June 17, 1874, the daughter of Henry and Celia Hull Starr. She was a graduate of the Morris High school and Oneonta State Normal. For several years she taught in district schools in the vicinity of Morris. Later she taught at Mineola and Coeymans. On October 23, 1906, she was united in marriage to Frank L. Churchill of Morris, in the chapel at Maple Grove. They went to housekeeping on a farm just a few miles below the village of Morris where they spent their entire married life until Mr. Churchill's death in January, 1931. A son, Starr Churchill, was born to them in January, 1910. He died May 4, 1930. Surviving are one brother, Postmaster Lee H. Starr of Morris; a nephew, Clifford Starr of Washington, D. C., and a great niece, Patricia Starr of Washington, and several cousins ... Burial was in the Churchill plot in Hillington Cemetery." "The death of Starr Churchill, only son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Churchill, of Morris occurred at the Norwich Hospital Sunday afternoon, May 4th, where he had been taken for the relief of appendicitis last Thursday. He was twenty years old and was a genial, good fellow and well liked by a host of friends, always having a jolly word for all. He was a graduate of the Morris High school. His case was (a) very serious one from the start. He is survived by his parents, who have the sincere sympathy of a wide circle of friends in their bereavement. The funeral was held on Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock and attended by the Rev. E. E. Hutchinson, rector of the Episcopal church, with burial in Hillington cemetery."
