His house was on St. Augustine Street. Since he didn't live in Athy's castle and following the naming pattern, it would stand to reason that he was the second son. His wife appears to also have been a Martyn. Following the Irish naming pattern, we can establish that she may have been the daughter of George Martyn FitzWalter, a third cousin to his mother. In 1639, he served as Sheriff of Galway. He is shown as also owning property in Athenry as late as 1641. |
