References
  1. Jane's applied for Edwards Rev. War. Pension benefits in Claiborne County TN in 1840. She stated that she had married Edward ab0u8t 1 May 1790 on Horse Creek, Sullivan County TN. Horse Creek could be the community of Horse Creek in Sullivan County, but by describing it as "on Horse Creek" she seems to be referring not to the inhabited place, but to some location within the Horse Creek Watershed. Southern Campaign's notes for this application state that she gave her maiden name as Jane Horne or Jane House, daughter of Frederick Horne or House of Hawkins County TN. The transcription does not give the exact wording of this statement, and it would seem that the name could not be clearly read, so was rendered "Horne or House". Ancestry Public member trees include 105 member trees identifying Jane's Father as Frederick Horne, and her husband as Edward Walker. None identify her fathers name as Freerick House.
