Flossie Marie (Black) Ragan was born on January 10th, 1917 in Beaver County Oklahoma; the daughter of Walter and Ona (Mathis) Black. When she was child the family moved to Twin Buttes Colorado. The family returned to Beaver County in the early twenties. On December 8th 1934, she married Edward James "Ed" Ragan in Beaver County OK and they made their home there. Sometime just prior to 1940 they moved to Laverne OK. Flossie and Ed owned their own cafe while they lived in Laverne. Flossie began working at Western State Mental Hosptial in Fort Supply OK in 1957 and they moved to Ft Supply in 1961. Ed preceded her in death on May 8th 1980. She retired from Western State Hospital as a nurses aide in 1981. On December 4th 1995 she entered the Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Woodward.

Flossie died Saturday December 21st 1996 in the Woodward Hospital and Health Center, she was 79 yrs old. Burial was December 24, 1996

She is survived by three sons, Don Ragan and wife Margaret of Rosston OK; Delvin Ragan and wife Rae of Granite OK; Dick Ragan of Woodward OK; seven daughters, Cleota Price and husband Sonny of Watonga OK; Pat Shane and husband Jack of Ft Supply; Bonnie Wilson and husband Terry of Medford OK; Loeta Hunter of Phoenix AZ; Joyce Mitch of Ft Supply; Mona Culwell and husband Charles of Woodward OK; Mickie Kendall and husband George of Glenpool OK; four brothers Roe Black and wife Zelma of Denver CO; Harlan Black and wife Rita of Logan OK;Enoch Black and wife Gene of Joplin MO;Fred Black and wife Ethel of Woodward, 25 grandchildren and 29 great-granchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister,once son, Billy Ray Ragan; one daughter Beulah Marie Ragan; four grandchildren, Gary Don Ragan, Julie Jo Stewart, Billy Wayne Ragan, Michael Don Ragan and a daughter-in-law Pamela Ragan.

Services were held on Tuesday December 24th 1996 at 1:30pm at the Ft Supply Baptist Church w/ Rev Bill Tindell and Rev Neil Ragan (brother in law) officiating.

Casket bearers were: Randy Price, Rodney Price, Ricky Price, Jeffrey Wilson, Brad Ragan, Kevin Garrison, John Mitch, Jason Culwell and Steve Broughton

Interment was in the Elmwood Cemetery in Woodward OK
