MARRIAGE: By 1637 Alice _____. "Mrs. Alice Ireson of Lyn, sojourning in this town," died at Charlestown 31 October 1681 [ChVR 1:66]. (The Elizabeth Ireson who sailed to New England with Edward in 1635 has been thought by some, including Savage, to be his wife, but only Alice is seen in New England as wife of Edward, and it may be that Elizabeth was his sister. Alternatively, the given names Alice and Elizabeth were sometimes interchangeable, and so the 1635 passenger may have been the wife of Edward.)
