His wife was a widow name Lucian. By her first marriage, she had a daughter Lucy who married John Lake. Edward's wife is named "Mrs Lucy Anna Bulkeley", mother, in probate documents relating to her daughter, Mrs. Lucy Lake. Rev Edward Bulkeley signed the receipt on behalf of his wife Lucey Anna Bulkeley to his son Peter Bulkeley, who was administrator of widow Lucy Lake's estate, Peter being "Her Brother".

Married: By 9 Nov 1658 when she acknowledged a deed. Most likely about 1637-1638 if she is the mother of the children.
Bride: Lucian/Lucy Ann. She married first [unknown], by whom she had a daughter Lucy Ann, who married John Lake. She was living 28 Jan 1678/9 when she received her deceased daughter's dowry from the estate of the daughter's late husband.

Two deeds in 1658 and 1672 (and the estate record described above) are the only evidence of her name, but Edward's first born daughter Elizabeth named her first child Lucian (and younger daughter Mary named her oldest child Lucy), and it seems more likely that would be done in honor of the mother rather than a step-mother.

  3. The estimated marriage date of before 1638 is based on #S1, p. 113, which gives the birthdate of their eldest child, Elizabeth, as "abt. 1638".
