Family Information

Earl Layton and Josephine Patrick were married in approximately 1925. They lived with Earl's parents Arthur and Edith Layton until ~1929 where their daughter Geraldine was born in 1927. They eventually moved to a rental home where their daughter Marcella was born in 1929. They then moved to on Archer Street, 10th Ward where their son Earl Junior was born in 1933. In 1938, Earl Sr. lost his job at the local tin mill, so they were forced to move back in with Earl's parents. In 1939, the family moved to Dravosburg where Earl built a 4-room house. They lived there the first winter with no roof (covered only by a canvas tarp). the family had to use long pole to push up on tarp to drain rainwater puddles or snow throughout the winter.
