    According to Mary Wecker Devlin's obituary she married Dudley Devlin in 1853. This is not possible since Mary had son John Shilts in 1855 by her first husband Matt Shiltz. The Devlin Sheet compiled by one of Mary's granddaughters through her daughter mary Ann Devlin Dempewolf has their marriage date as September 1856 in Galena, Jo Daviess County,  llinois.
    According to descendant Eric Ostberg through daughter Mary Wecker Devlin Peters, Dudley and Mary  did not get along and was a marriage of conveniance if anything.

Dudley and Mary's children are proven by the Devlin Family Sheet compiled by one of their granddaughter through daughter, Mary Ann. There are also proven by the 1860 and 1870 Federal Censuses and Mary's obituary in the Bellevue, Iowa Newspaper.
