David Nelson entered his Intention of marriage with Margarrit Rugg Feb. 13th 1739.

  2.   Lancaster records show the birth, p. 68, of "David Nelson ye Son of David and Rachil Nelson was born may ye 18th 1742", and p. 290, the baptism on 4 Jul 1742 of "David, son of David Nelson". No other record seems to suggest a Rachel Nelson, nor a second David Nelson in Lancaster who could have been married to a Rachel. So could this be a recording error intended to be David and Margaret? This birth would fit in the family, being 18 months after Betty and 16 months before Nathan. No such son is shown in this family by Source:Rugg, Ellen R. Descendants of John Rugg. Lancaster records, p. 382, also show the baptism "of David Nelson, David" on 3 Mar 1754 at Chocksett Church which David joined in 1744. This likewise would fit in-between known births yet is not shown by Ellen Rugg. Since there appears to be no attempt to have a son David by his second wife, it would appear the first David d. young, and the second one may have survived? Probate records may yield useful clues?
