  2. Source:Whitmore, William Henry. Record of the Descendants of Captain John Ayres of Brookfield, Mass, p. 25, indicates Mary Perkins married 1768 David Ayers b. 1711 without identifying her. No death of his previous wife Elizabeth has been located. An online Internet tree suggests it might actually be son b. 1745. No birth have been found for this couple to give any suggestion of ages. Source:Perkins, Carolyn C. Descendants of Abraham Perkins of Hampton, New Hampshire, p. 42, indicates that Mary, d/o William Perkins and Elizabeth Parree, is the one who married New Braintree 17 Mar 1768 David Ayers. But access to this source is restricted due to copyright, and their basis, if any was given, is unknown. It seems a poor match location-wise unless the family relocated. Further it is not even clear if they identify whether the father David b. 1711 or son David b. 1745 is the husband. An article on the Penney family in NYGBR, Vol. 133, p. 86, not fully seen due to copyright restrictions, shows 1760 as the last date previous wife Elizabeth is known to be alive, but in a footnote appears to give an argument favoring son as the husband of Mary Perkins in one case, but more convincing, another favoring father based on the 1772 census of Guilford, Vermont, as seen here which shows David Sr. with wife and 9 children, David Jr. with no wife or children. So more research is needed.
