ARREST CORL ON ATTEMPT TO MURDER WIFE

Examination for Elwell Farmer Set For Today At Alma

$2,000 BOND FURNISHED

Darley Corl, of near Elwell, was placed under arrest this week charged with attempting to murder his wife, Lulu Corl, by placing poison in her coffee. The arrest was made following a thorough investigation carried on by the county officials.
Corl was taken before Justice Biggerstaff and demanded an examination which has tentatively been set for today. He was released under a bond of $2,000,
As related in last week's Herald the story as told by Mrs. Corl implicated her husband with who she had had matrimonial difficulties for a number of years. There is no question but what white arsenic, a very poisonous substance, was found in the coffee which Mrs. Corl drank but her husband maintains that he did not put it there and has no idea as to where it came from.
Officers were determined to trace down the source of this poison and in doing so secured enough evidence to arrest Mr. Corl. Goggin and Cash have been engaged to defend him while prosecutor Kenneth B. Montigel will conduct the examination for the people.

EXAMINE CORL ON ATTEMPT TO MURDER WIFE...

The examination of Darley Corl of near Elwell, who is being held on a charge of attempting to murder his wife, Lulu Corl, by placing poison in her coffee, was held Wednesday before Justice Biggerstaff at Alma. The examination, however, was not completed.
It will be remembered that Corl was arrested the last of April following a story related by Mrs. Corl which implicated her husband. The two had had matrimonial difficulties for a number of years and in some manner white arsenic was placed in Mrs. Corl's coffee. She drank the coffee and later was taken seriously sick. She responded to treatment, however, and recovered.
Mr. Corl maintains that he did not put the poison in the cup and has no idea as to where it came from. Goggin and Cash were employed to defend Corl while prosecuting attorney K.B. Montigel conducted the examintion for the people.
