ISLINGTON. CORNISH-BALLARD WEDDING. On the 28th ultimo, Miss Elsie Cornish, eldest daughter of Mr. George A. Cornish, was married to Mr. Cyrus Ballard, school teacher, of Glen Innes. The ceremony was conducted in the Hamilton Presbyterian Church by the Rev. A. Thain Anderson, M.A., the bride being given away by her father Mr. Horace Cornish, brother of the bride, acted as groomsman, whilst the bridesmaids were Miss Ivy Cornish and Miss Louie Crick, sister and cousin respectively of the bride. The bride, who was attired in cream silk, richly trimmed, were a wreath and veil, carried a shower bouquet, and wore a cable bangle, gifts of the bridegroom. The bridesmaids wore cream voile dresses and hats to match, and also two pretty gold brooches, gifts of the bridegroom. Subsequent to tile ceremony an adjournment was made to the school hall of the Congregational Church. Isllington, where refreshments were indulged in, and the bride's health proposed by the Rev. Mr. Anderson. who testified to his personal knowledge of the worth and character of Miss Cornish for several years past. She was an earnest Christian, and he wished her prosperity in her married life. The bridegroom feelingly responded. Mr. and Mrs. Ballard left for their honeymoon by the 6.10 p.m. train for Sydney, amidst. a storm of rice and an abundance of good wishes from the crowd which collected on the Hamilton station. The bride's travelling dress consisted of a blue voile and white picture hat. Many useful presents were given to the bride from her friends and acquaintances.
