  3. One would suspect that Jane married Corlis Jr. based on ages, but there is no death record for either Corlis Jr. or his wife Susannah to bracket Jane's marriages. On the other hand, the wife of Corlis Sr. d. 1806 before Jane's marriage in 1808, and Corlis Sr. d. 1811 before Jane's next marriage in 1815.Further deeds executed by Corlis Sr. show a wife Jenny (e.g. Vol. 160, p. 184 in 1803) but later a wife Jane (e.g. Vol. 186, p. 477 in 1809). Source:Hinds, Albert Henry. History and Genealogy of the Hinds Family, p. 32, is somewhat useless, saying one person says one thing, another says different, it is very frustrating while settling on "Mrs. McCutter", not even showing a given name. Meanwhile there is a marriage record that clearly says Jane Curtis that this source applies to neither father nor son? The choice of "McCutter" or McCullock or possibly McCuller (based on his various correspondents) has no credibility and is probably confusion with the first wife's maiden name.
