Iva Dell (Gubbins) Williams, was born April 20, 1896, in Kawkawlin, MI. Her parents were William & Nellie G. (Knight) Gubbins, married December 25, 1891. She had 4 full siblings and 4 half siblings.

Iva's mother, Nellie G. (Knight) Gubbins was born as a twin in August 1873 in Collins, NY (Erie County). Her twin sister, Dellie M. Knight is unknown and believed to have died as infant. Nellie's parents' names were Adam and Calista (Moshier) Knight, both born around 1846-47. Nellie passed away from complications of childbirth in 1910, after the birth of her 7th child, William Gary.

From her first marriage to William Gubbins, Nellie had 4 children: Edna G. (Gubbins) Ostrum (3/9/1892), Ethel Belle Gubbins (5/1893), Iva Dell (Gubbins) Williams (4/20/1896), and Edwin Daniel Gubbins (4/19/1897). While living in a logging camp in Bay County, MI near the Kawkawlin river, her husband, William Gubbins left the family around 1897, shortly after her son, Edwin was born. Nellie remarried sometime between 1900-1903 to Norman Gary. From her second marriage to Norman, she had 4 children: Grace Gary (1/7/1904), Minnie Gary (11/5/1906), Norman Gary(son) (3/6/1908), and William Gary (9/24/1910).

In addition to her twin, Nellie had 5 other siblings: Estella May Knight, William Malcom Knight, Sally J. Knight, Edward D. Knight and Cora Anna Laura Knight.

Iva's father, William Elwin Gubbins was born August 26, 1871, in Lapeer County, MI. William's parents' names were Alexander Gubbins and Ruth (Bronson) Gubbins. William's death is unknown.

William Gubbins had been married twice before (F. Polly Hicks & Ada Young) and never divorced before marrying Nellie Knight as his 3rd wife. It's said he was a farmer in or near Tuscola, County MI

Iva was married on January 2, 1913, to Charles Ludwig Williams near Saginaw, MI. Iva had 5 children with Charles Williams: Helen Isobel (Williams) Dysinger (12/21/1913), Mildred (Williams) Lamphere (Date), Zelma (Williams) Rice (Date), Edward Williams (Date), and Charles Williams (son) (Date).

Iva's daughter, Helen Isobel married Leon Slyvester Dysinger on March 17, 1933, in Clare, MI. Helen and Leon Dysinger had 6 children: Daniel L. Dysinger, Duane R. Dysinger, Robert Dysinger, Donald Dean Dysinger, Nancy May (Dysinger) Lloyd, and Carol Lee (Dysinger) Larrance. Helen lived to be 103 years, passing away on March 13, 2017. She lived the majority of her life in Clare, MI with most of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren staying in the Clare area.

   Iva Dell Williams, 79 of Clare, MI died Friday, August 8, 1975. She was born April 20, 1896, in Kawkawlin, MI to William and Nellie (Knight) Gubbins. She was married to Charles L. Williams on January 2, 1913. She was a cook at the Doherty Hotel for 30 years. She lived in Clare for 50 years.
   Surviving are 3 daughters, Mrs. Leon (Helen) Dysinger of Clare; Mrs. Lou (Mildred) Lamphere of Mesa, AZ; Mrs. Martin (Zelma) Rice of Southfield, MI; 2 Sons, Edward of Clare, MI; Clarence of El Paso, TX; 17 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson; 2 half-sisters, 2 half-brothers; 3 step grandchildren, 8 step great grandchildren, 1 step great-great grandchild.
   Funeral services were held Sunday, August 10, 1975, from Stephenson-Doherty Funeral Home with Rev. Noble Davis officiating. Burial was in Vernon Township Cemetary, Isabella County, MI
