- Chicago Daily Tribune, Mar 11, 1953: Washington, March 10 – Word was received here today of the death in Atlanta, Ga., of Mrs. Carleton J. Holdrege, formerly of Chicago, while visiting her daughter, Mrs. Alexander H. Lawton II. Mrs. Holdrege and her husband, who was with her, lived in Chicago for several years at 32 Scott St. In 1926 they moved to Paris, France, for 15 years. Returning to the United States, they lived briefly at Savannah, Ga. They then came to Washington. Mrs. Holdrege was born in Bloomington, Ill. Funeral services and interment will be in Savannah.”
