↑ Though Olive was only 14, she and Carl were taken by her father, David Long Barrow to Martinsville to be married because she was underage for marriage in the state of Indiana. They lied about her age in Morgan Co. Her father signed forher to marry and performed the ceremony; he was a Baptist preacher. Carl always said he married her young and raised her like he wanted. He also said he had no idea that she was that young when they began dating. She always said she hadbeen married all of her life.
