  3.   There are two Mary Merriams born in Lexington of an appropriate age: Mary, d/o Thomas and Tabitha, b. 15 Jun 1727, and Mary, d/o Joseph and Mary, b. 28 Jun 1728. The first one is named "Mary Whitney" in her father's will (i..e, married David Whitney, see Source:Pope, Charles Henry. Merriam Genealogy in England and America, p. 70). This makes it likely that Benjamin's wife is the younger one, which may be exactly what the "jun'r" in the intentions were intended to show. However, neither the Merriam Genealogy, nor Source:Hudson, Charles. History of the Town of Lexington, Middlesex County, Massachusetts, from Its First Settlement to 1868 show any marriage for this Mary.
