In an early Calhoun County History article, seventy year old 'Aunt Betty' Stallman Jackson Ferrell says she married Benjamin Jackson on Nov 4, 1839. Perhaps the earlier date I have is the date of the license and the Nov 4th date is the date of the actual ceremony. But the handwritten marriage return lists 15 Oct 1839 as the date that J. B. Cook, a Minister of the Gospel, says he solemnised the marriage.
