Marriage Notes for Barnabas Phelps and Eunice Isham: According to Connecticut Families by Bailey. Barnabus and Eunice were married at the Second Congregational Church of Colchester. This church was organized in the village of Westchester in 1729. Westchester is west and south of Colchester and was in the Hartford County until 1783 when the town of Colchester was taken from Hartford and placed in New London, County. Westchester is very small (presently), North Westchester less than three miles north considerablly larger. Westchester is also within two miles fron the town of East Hampton in Middlesex county and about the same distance north of the town of East Haddam in Middlesex county.
