- Note: The identification of Asher Cutler's wife as Rebecca Wood comes from Source:Cutler, Nahum Sawin. Cutler Memorial and Genealogical History, p. 47, but he does not give any justification nor any further identification of her. Source:NEHGR, p. 114:35 suggests Rebecca is Rebecca Seaver because Asher Cutler deeded land to Cornelius Wood in 1768 with Rebecca Cutler giving up her dower rights, and the article assumes this was a portion of the real estate inherited by the children of Rebecca (Willis) Seaver. But the child Rebecca Seaver was given a guardian in 1759, indicating she was a minor then, whereas Asher Cutler and his wife Rebecca married before 1739 when their first daughter was born. So a more likely conclusion is that Rebecca is Cornelius' sister, Rebecca, d/o Abraham and Hannah Wood, b. Concord 1717. Nothing is shown for this Rebecca beyond her birth in Source:Holmes, Clay Wood. Genealogy of the Lineal Descendants of William Wood Who Settled in Concord, Massachusetts in 1638, p. 16.
