Charles and Melvina had one son.

In 1946, Charles was a machine operator for the Bowser Company. They lived at 605 Lavina Street in Fort Wayne, Indiana. In 1949, they still lived at 605 Lavina Street, but he was a watchman. In 1950, Arthur was a watchman at General Dredging Company. They still lived at 605 Lavina Street.

Melvina's obituary reads, "MRS. MELVINA E. FRANE. Mrs. Melvina E. Frane, 52, of 1723 Cortland Ave. was dead on arrival at 7:08 p.m. yesterday at Parkview Memorial Hospital. Born in Kokomo area, she come to Fort Wayne 35 years ago and was a member of Most Precious Blood Catholic Church and its Rosary Society. Surviving are her husband, Arthur C.; a son, Thomas J.; a brother, Roy L. Humbarger, Fort Wayne; and a sister, Mrs. Ortha Sexton, Rome City. The body is at C. M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home." Charles' obituary reads, "ARTHUR C. FRANE. Arthur C. Frane, 68, of 723 Cortland Ave. died at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Parkview Memorial Hospital, where he had been a patient two weeks. Mr. Frane, a lifelong resident of the Fort Wayne area, retired in 1975 from the Masolite Corp. after 23 years. Surviving are a son, Thomas of Fort Wayne; a brother, Leslie of Fort Wayne; and four sisters, Mrs. Esther Castleman and Mrs. Eddie Sorg, both of Fort Wayne, Mrs. Beatrice Trausch of Edon, Ohio, and Mrs. Lucille Messman of Woodburn. Services will be at 9:40 a.m. Saturday in C. M. Sloan & Sons Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where a rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in Lindenwood Cemetery." They are both buried in the Lindenwood Cemetery in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
