  4. Surprise Tea Given for Miss Ervilla Varran
    A surprise tea was given Miss Ervilla Varran at her home Saturday afternoon, December 17th from 3 to 5 o'clock by members of First Church of Christ, Scientist in loving appreciation for her services as soloist for the past eleven years and for her faithful work in the Sunday School.
    Piano solos were played by Ruth and June Allen and Ethel Binning.
    Guests, twenty-eight in number, were present from Lapeer, Ortonville, Lakeville, Lake Orion and Oxford. Many beautiful and useful gifts were showered upon her.

    Mr. and Mrs. D.L. Bronson entertained at a 6 o'clock dinner Friday evening honoring Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Van Wagoner, David Varran of Port Huron, Ervilla Varran and Arold Stoelt, of Detroit.

    Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Van Wagoner spent Christmas in Detroit with their daughter, Mrs. Arnold Stoelt and son, Lou G. Van Wagoner.
