  2.   On June 11, 1827, Emily Gay married John Montgomery at the Opelausas Courthouse in Louisiana. Then on Oct. 8, 1828, Appleton Gay married Lucinda Montgomery, also at the Opelausas Courthouse. At these times, both Emily and Appleton claimed that their parents were Thomas Gay and Mary Brantley of Georgia. And yes, John Montgomery and Lucinda Montgomery were also brothers and sisters.
