Andrew C. Brown enlisted in the Union Army, Pennsylvania Volunteers when he was 27 years old on 24th of December 1863. He became a member of Company D, 49th Regiment. He died in a military hospital in Washington, D.C. from wounds received at Spotsylvania, Virginia on May 10, 1864.
