"Sarah (Gilbert) … m. at Hartford, July 1,1670, Andrew Belcher, … son of Andrew and Elizabeth (Danforth) Belcher of Sudbury and Cambridge. Tradition says that Andrew Belcher, Jr., being on a journey through Connecticut Colony, stopped at the Gilbert Inn in Hartford, saw the beautiful daughter of innkeeper Gilbert, fell in love, and married her. They lived for a few years at Hartford and later at Charlestown, Cambridge, and Boston."
