An Alexander Reed applied for a Marriage Bond in Augusta County, Virginia on 21 March 1769 [Spouse not listed], but that Alexander Reed was listed as "Alexander Reed, Jr.", and likely not this Alexander Reed, son of Robert Reed. Some Ancestry Member Trees have apparently mistakenly taken the 1769 date as the marriage date for this Alexander. It does not appear that this Alexander Reed had children old enough to have been married in abt. 1769, further reinforcing the notion that it was a different Alexander Reed that married in 1769. Additional research necessary.
