The family of Dingwall, who lived at Strelitz, and whose children were baptised at Cargill. Children born to John: 1. John born 1801, 2. Alexander born 1803 3. Daniel born 1805

On John and Daniel's death certificate it states that their mother was Barbara Mckenzie, no marriage has yet been found.

1. John Married Isabella Caldwell (Father - Thomas) and migrated to Australia under the Bounty Scheme in 1838 on the "Duncan". Occupation: Stonemason. The immigrants records state that his father was John, and that he was born in Cargill. That Isabella's father was Thomas and that she was born in Largo Fife.

John and Isabella's children included; John (13) born Largo Fife Mary (11) born Largo Fife Isabella (8) born Largo Fife

2. Alexander moved to Lanark. Occupation - Spirit Dealer - source Pigot & Co Directory 1834. He married Mary Flimester at Gorbals Lanark on 25.2.1826 Their Children included: Agness born 1825 christened at Hutcheson - Glasgow on 30.12.1827. Barbara christened at Hutcheson - Glasgow on 12.2.1832.

To date we have not found the death of Mary Flimester/Dingwall, but Alexander remarried Helen Gilchrist on 21.2.1837 at Gorbals, Lanark. Their children included: Helen Christened 4.7.1839 Margaret Christened 12.4.1841 Alexander Gilchrist Christened 21.7.1844

Looking for the death of Alexander Dingwall and Helen Gilchrist/Dingwall. Barbara married Robert Snedden on 30.11.1851 and died on 22.5.1865. The family has lost touch with the other siblings.

3. Daniel married Margaret Brown Devine. His occupation - Mason. They followed John to Australia under the Bounty Scheme, arriving in 1841 on board "New York Packet". The Immigration records state that Margaret was born in Glasgow, occupation - Servant.

Their children included: William (12) Elizabeth (10) Barbara (7) Janet (5) Margaret (2)

The family must have been living at Strelitz for some time, the IGI shows a John Dingwall marrying Ann Hunter on 12.2.1764.

Children found to this couple are Kenneth christened 2.8.1867 George christened 21.2.1770 David christened 8.8.1772 Ann christened 4.6.1775 Elspeth christened 16.5.1779

but no John - until I find his baptism I can't confirm that this is the same family.
