Alexander Baily was born in September 1821 in Maryland and on September 27, 1847 he married Mary Phillips. According to the 1850 and 1860 census there were eight children:
a. Sophronia Baily born in 1849 in Fountain Co. In. and passed away September 21, 1852 and is buried in old Town Cemetery at Hillsboro.
b. Adelphius Baily, born October 15, 1850 and passed away September 3, 1851 and is also buried in old Town.
c. John Baily, born in 1852 and on April 8, 1875 married Margaret Haxton.
d. Malinda Baily, born in 1854. Alfred Baily, born in 1855. Abigail Baily, born 1857.
e. Sarah Jane Baily, born in 1859.
f. Almeda Baily, born in October 1861 and married a man by the name of Perkins.
They were the parents of seven children:
i. Franklin L. Perkins, born in April 1885.
ii. Chester A. Perkins, born December 1887.
iii. Nannie J. Perkins, born December 1889.
iv. Vernia Perkins, born, January 1892.
v. Austin J. Perkins, born July 1894.
vi. Earl W. Perkins, born February 1896.
vii. Hobart W. Perkins, born April 1899
