Separated: Date: APR 1917 Place: Utica, Oneida County, NY Rome Daily Sentinel, 19 June 1903: MARRIED FENTON--LOVELAND At the residence of the officiating clergyman in East Florence, June 14, 1903, by Rev. George W. Best, Adelbert Fenton and Miss Eva May Loveland, both of Camden. Utica Herald-Dispatch, 18 Nov 1916: In special term of Supreme Court... Justice Crouch... granted an order in the matter of the action of separation case of Eva May Fenton against Adelbert Fenton, both of Camden, directing the defendant to pay $80 due for support of daughter... The papers... also allege cruel and inhuman treatment as basis for a separation... while he was intoxicated on October 7, 1906, the plaintiff's hip was broken and that she is a cripple and only able to earn $4 a week for the support of the child. Rome Daily Sentinel, 4 Apr 1917: Utica, April 4-- After hearing Mrs. Eva May Fenton of Camden testify in Supreme Court special term as to the many times her husband beat her during a period of more than 10 years, Justice Devondorf granted her a decree of separation, with $5 a week alimony. She was represented by A. T. Wilkinson. The husband, Albert Fenton, who testified as to his poor condition of finances was represented by G. F. Morss of Camden. Syracuse Journal, 26 May 1917: HUSBAND IN CONTEMPT FOR FAILING TO PAY ALIMONY Having secured a separation last month and failing to receive alimony fixed by Justice Irving E. Devendorf at $5 a week, Mrs. Eva May Fenton of Camden secured... an order punishing Adelbert Fenton for contempt of court. Mrs. Fenton secured the custody of her daughter, Almeda Fenton, 14, and has been unable to collect alimony... References
