- ↑ In an effort to trace her I tried looking for her marriage record..and found it among the earliest Presbyterian church records in our area. According to her marriage record, her given name was Helen and she was born in 1859...This means she WAS born in Canada. There are persistent rumours that there was some sort of genetic illness in this branch of the family and that, because of this no one in this family ever married. While this will never be proven, there is the possibility that lupus may have been the culprit, since it is documented in other branches of the family.
