- ↑ The births of the first four children are not recorded where they born, rather they were recorded when the family removed to Rindge, NH. Unfortunately only the towns of birth were recorded with no state given, and as the towns named in 3 of the 4 existed in two different dates, raising ambiguity about where the births occurred. It is believed based on the pattern of birth locations of all the children, that all were in Massachusetts, and this is also what is given in Source:Johnson, Edward F. Captain Edward Johnson of Woburn, Massachusetts and Some of His Descendants, p. 25n This is supported by the 1800 census listing him in Burlington, Mass., not Burlington, Vt. (here, with 2 young daughters, no sons yet, as Cyrus not born until October 1800).]
