| During the first half of this decade, additional settlers enter the area, typically settling adjacent to existing settlers. This may be for social reasons, but may also be driven by the fact that the earliest settlers chose the best lands, and by 1750 the best remaining land was still adjacent to where they settled. In any case, with the outbreak of the French and Indian War in 1754, issuance of warrants plummets. No additional warrants would be issued until 1765.
