Catalog description: Thomas Bascom immigrated to America before 1634, at which time he was living in Dorchester, Massachusetts. He and his family moved to Windsor, Connecticut, in 1639. Three children were born in Windsor. The eldest, Hannah, was probably born before they moved. Sometime before 1661, the family moved to Northampton, Massachusetts. His wife, Avis, died in 1676. He died 9 May 1682 in Northampton. Descendants lived in Massachusetts, Vermont, Ohio, New York, Illinois, New Hampshire and elsewhere.
