Sé is the cathedral for the Diocese of Funchal which covers all of Madeira. Sé is a parish in the district and the oldest part of Funchal in the Madeira Islands and is the smallest parish in population. The population in 2001 was 2,148, its density was 585.3/km² and the area is 3.67 km². It is located near downtown Funchal. The main industry is agriculture. Sé is one of the remaining parishes in Funchal that still have farmlands. The distant, uninhabited Savage Islands, with an area of 2.73 km², are part of the parish. Sé has a school, a lyceum, a gymnasia, a church and a square (praça).
