Place:Leominster District, Hereford and Worcester, England

The Leominster District was one of the districts into which the county of Hereford and Worcester was divided on its creation in 1974. It covered the northeast sector of Herefordshire and stretched into Worcesershire. It was one of the two district municipalities which absorbed local administrations from both sides of the Herefordshire-Worcestershire border. The county lasted until 1998 at which time the Leominster District was split and the original sections were transferred back to Worcestershire and Herefordshire.

The current district was formed on 1 April 1974 from

• Kington Urban District (from Herefordshire)
• Leominster Urban District (from Herefordshire)
• Kington Rural District Urban District (from Herefordshire)
• Leominster and Wigmore Rural District (from Herefordshire)
• Weobley Rural District (from Herefordshire) and
• Tenbury Rural District (from Worcestershire)

When Hereford and Worcester was dissolved in 1998, Herefordshire became a unitary authority and thus the Leominster District ceased to exist.
