The Leominster District was one of the districts into which the county of Hereford and Worcester was divided on its creation in 1974. It covered the northeast sector of Herefordshire and stretched into Worcesershire. It was one of the two district municipalities which absorbed local administrations from both sides of the Herefordshire-Worcestershire border. The county lasted until 1998 at which time the Leominster District was split and the original sections were transferred back to Worcestershire and Herefordshire.
