Dallas County is a county located in the U.S. state of Iowa. The population was 66,135 in the 2010 census, an increase from 40,750 in the 2000 census.[1][2] Its county seat is Adel. It was named for George M. Dallas, Vice President of the United States of America under James K. Polk. Dallas County is one of the five counties that make up the Des Moines–West Des Moines Metropolitan Statistical Area.
