Carlton is a small rural parish located east of the River Sence in Leicestershire, England, around 2.2 miles north of Market Bosworth, the parish in which it was a chapelry. It became a civil parish in 1866. According to the 2011 UK Census, Carlton has a population of 305.

The village is close enough to the border with Warwickshire to have a Nuneaton postcode.

A Vision of Britain through Time provides the following description of Carlton from John Marius Wilson's Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales of 1870-72:

"CARLTON, a chapelry in Market-Bosworth parish, Leicester[shire]; on the Ashby-de-la-Zouch canal, 1½ mile NW by N of Market-Bosworth, and 5 WSW of Bagworth [railway] station. Post Town: Market-Bosworth, under Hinckley. Acres: 680. Real property: £1,755. Population: 277. Houses: 63. The property is divided among a few. The chapelry was constituted in 1868. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Peterborough. Value: £173."
