↑ Probably the son of Samuel Scott and Sarah (----) but at the moment it is circumstantial. After their mother died abt 1850, Thomas Scott seems to have temporarily sent his children to live with relatives (Samuel Scott and Sarah, whom seem to be Thomas's parents, or at the least, kid of some kind). The children, with all the right birth dates and names, appear in the household of Samuel Scott on the 1850 Census. Thomas Scott himself seems to be living alone in the next county. His youngest child Matilda would die shortly after, but he retrieves his remaining three children just before moving to Iowa where they appear with him in the 1860 Census.
