Question: Is Simeon Crockett related to famous frontiersman Davy Crockett?

1. Davy Crockett was born 17 August 1786 in Tennessee. Simeon was born in 1813 in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or North Carolina "back east", so any relationship would have to be through Crockett relatives who did not move east to Tennessee from New York or who came from Ireland.

2. Davy Crockett's lineage can be traced to France, then Ireland, then New York to Tennessee. The name changed from de Crocketagne to Crockett.

3. Davy Crockett's autobiography does not mention a Simeon Crockett. There are some males named David in Simeon's family, but we don't see this particular David (1786-1836), so far.

4. For now, we do not know Simeon's parents names or his state of birth.

5. There is a Simon or Simeon Crockett born in Maine around the same time (1815) that does not appear to be this man.
