  3. ↑ The Guild/Guile/Gile genealogy, p. 222, states that the wife of Peter Pattee was Sarah, daughter of Samuel and Judith (Davis) Guile of Haverhill. However, since the Haverhill record of the marriage calls the bride "Sarah Gill" and identifies her as being of Salisbury, it appears much more likely that Peter married Sarah, daughter of John and Phebe (Buswell) Gill of Salisbury. [A fact that is probably confirmed by the will of "John Gill" dated 1690 [Essex Probate 10934] who names "Sarah Petty my third daughter", while the will of "Samuell Gill" dated 1683 [Essex probate 10906] simply names his daughter Sarah, leaving her land in the third division, which she quitclaims, as Sarah Gile, to her brother James Gile 1 Feb 1698/99 {Essex deed Vol. 13, folio 91.]
