By 23 Jan 1758 the widow Mary Gavit was also deceased intestate and her father Capt. Edward Willcox of Charlestown was given Letter of Admin of both estates (pps. 565, 567).
27 Aug 1759 Samuel Gavit son of Capt. Samuel Gavit chose his grandfather Capt. Edward Willcox of Charlestown to be his guardian [Thus child Samuel was age 14-21].
27 Oct 1764 Capt. Edward Willcox Admr of Estates of Capt. Samuel Gavit and Mary his wife, both of Westerly deceased, presented an account for bringing up 3 of the deceased's orphan children, viz: Hannah, Eunice and Vashti until they respectively arrived to the ages of 7 years. [Details suggest Hannah was born abt. 1751, Eunice abt. 1753 and Vashti abt. 1755.
