Marcus Browning Pollard, 67, died at the Northeast Mississippi Hospital at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, August 7, 1971 after a brief illness.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. The Rev. Sidney Whitehead officiated.

Mr. Pollard was a member of the Baptist Church and was a retired farmer.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Letha Carpenter Pollard of Booneville; his mother, Mrs. Ellen Pollard of Booneville; seven sons, Derward and John Ray, both of Louisiana, Sidney of Arkansas, James Robert of Alaska, A. D. of Tennessee, Dwayne of Memphis, Warren of Columbus, SC.

Eight daughters, Mrs. Verleen Heady of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Nora Lee Ward of Colorado, Mrs. Frankie Burks of Southaven, Mrs. Mary Robinson of Rienzi, Mrs. Joe Ann Myricle of Memphis and Mrs. Wanda Fay Gahagan of Booneville.

Two brothers, Charlie Pollard of Selmer, Tenn. and Julius Pollard of Louisiana; 60 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
