This is from Ancestry.com.The script is very hard to read, but the original image is there.I corrected her and her father's name from "Janekeroger" to Gawkroger. The year sometimes appears as 1567, since at this time there was a different calendar in use (Gregorian replaced Julian in 1582).
I have Samuel Smith b. 22 Apr 1565 in Halifax, but have been unable to find the transcription in the same database.There is a Samuell "Oytes" on that date in 1564; again, the script is very hard to read (I do much better with French from this time period than English lol).If this is the correct entry, then his father was Jacob (mother's aren't listed)
