Obituary: Frances Schnepf was born on January 15, 1910, in Friesland, Netherlands, to Frederick and Agnes (Herrema) Zeinstra. At the age of 3 1/2 years she migrated to Hull, Iowa. She moved with her parents to Fountain Prairie Township, near Holland, Minnesota, where she attended school. She was united in marriage to Henry Schnepf on May 14, 1927 at Rock Rapids, Iowa. They farmed in the Holland area for 30 years then near Lake Wilson for the next 6 years. In 1962 they retired and moved to Ihlen, Minnesota. Henry passed away on December 1, 1968. Frances became a resident of the Nokomis Apts. in Pipestone. On October 4, 1983, Frances suffered a stroke and was hospitalized for a month, then she entered the Pipestone County Nursing Unit. Her death came there on Thursday, May 10, 1984, at the age of 74, 3 months and 25 days. Frances is survived by a daughter, Alma, Mrs. Elmer Folkeerts of Woodstock, Minnesota and a son, Merle Schnepf of St. Paul, Minnesota; two sisters: Mrs. Winnie Rodenburgh of Leota, Minnesota, and Mrs. Clar Van Der Wal of Pipestone, Minnesota; 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, sisters and brothers.
