Found at the Prairie du Chien Library in Wisconsin. News article about death of William Adney, published by The Prairie du Chien Union on Friday, January 2, 1874, Pg. 3, Col. 3: CLAYTON: Wm. Adney, one of our first settlers eat (sic) his supper at the house of his son, apparently in good health, and was found dead in his chair the next morning." Date of death of Dec. 16, 1873 found in the index of this newspaper, probably entered by Doris Adney, one of William's descendants that worked at this library.
