The inscription reads:

On first stone: Of your Charity pray for the repose of the soul of Hugh Murtagh, On second stone: Who departed this life May 10th 1899, aged 53 years, fortified by the rites of the Holy Church. Also Hugh Murtagh, beloved son of the above who departed this life February 22nd 1900, aged 25 years. On the step between the second and third stones: Fortified By The Rites Of The Holy Church On the third stone: Also Mary Ellen Murtagh, who departed this life August 10th 1880 aged 2 years. Secred Heart of Jesus have mercy on them. Immaculate Heart of Mary pray for them. Also Bridget Murtagh. Died June 14th 1915, aged 70 years. On the step between the third and bottom stones: May They Rest in Peace

Bridget’s inscription is not cut as deeply as the rest of the lettering, perhaps because it was war time?
